Whats setting is changed by PN to uncap upstream speed?

Subject is the first question.
Is it possible to advise me exactly how my IP Profile is configured?
Thanks
Dan.

Re: Whats is done to a IP profile to uncap upstream speed?

From the speed test in your signature your upload is uncapped.
Uncapping upload should only have a very minimal (if any) affect on the downstream IP Prolfile.
If you run the BT speed test and when the first pass completes run the Further Diagnostic it will tell you your current IP Profile. You should find it is 88.2% of your current sync speed.

jelv.
I am aware my upspeed is uncapped, I really want to know what PN do to my IP Profile to achieve this.

Nothing!
The IP Profile is set by your sync speed. All they have done is remove the setting that stops the upstream syncing above 448kbps.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong the wrong question, Do you by chance actually know what is done as that doesn't answer the question.

I give up! I've answered the question - you clearly don't understand.

I'm confused, what is it you actually want to know?
We place an order with BTWholesale to remove the cap on your upload. The IP profile is a separate entity to these orders and is worked out as a percentage of your downstream sync speed

Sorry,  just saying remove the setting that stops the upstream syncing above 448kbps does not answer the question.
I actually want to know which setting, I'm trying to understand why I have frequent re syncs.
I've change the topic title to reflect this.

Re: Whats setting is changed by PN to uncap upstream speed?

When we place an order in the BT Wholesale system, there is a dropdown box from which we can choose '448kbps' or 'uncapped' for the upload. That's the only change. This isn't going to cause continued disconnections.
If you're looking to figure out why you're getting frequent resyncs, that's a completely different question.
How frequent are these resyncs and how long does it take to reconnect each time? I ask as we're not seeing many at all for your line.

Yep, that graph shows the same as we see up to the 3rd of Jan, however since then it's been much much more stable.

Can we go back and ask what problem you are having with your connection at the moment?

Re: Whats setting is changed by PN to uncap upstream speed?

Chris,
Sorry about mixing up terms and any confusion I might have caused.
As you can see I never have a stable connection for more than three days. After complaining about the state of my line one of the James in PN complaints he set my down stream SN Margin to 12, this was supposed to make my line more stable. But the issue has not really gone.
At the same time as James was working on the issue my up stream was uncapped ( I did not request this) and I noticed the down SN Margin went from 23 to around 11.
So with uncapping of the up stream speed can this cause the line to become less stable on an already poor quality line? Any re sync would reconnect immediately.

Re: Whats setting is changed by PN to uncap upstream speed?

It can
It did on mine until the line was sorted
The way to check is to watch the upstream errors (if you have a Plusnet router - Routerstats will do that) specially if you get disconnections when the phone is used

Re: Whats setting is changed by PN to uncap upstream speed?

Thanks Jim.
The problem is the fault is not consistent. Somedays I'll get a disconnection when the phone rings and for days everything is fine.
Router stats for upstream is usually a flat line and when the phone rings the graph line drops to zero.
