I think I have sussed the USB out (but that's for another day / evening) )
I have just rebooted the Router to optimise the sync speed etc for my area
Not sure at this time, if is as a result of the 8.4.4.J Firmware or a Difference in Hardware
however I am getting the best sync rate of any router I have tested on my line (without using tweaks like the DGTeam firmware for netgears etc)
Uptime: 0 days, 0:03:20
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 732 / 10.060
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]: 2,73 / 22,75
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12,2 / 20,6
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 27,0 / 47,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 5,9 / 3,1
I have now sorted out the issue that prevented me from using the NowTV box & I had to Turn on Network Discovery & File Sharing (not ideal) however it works, I have started a separate thread, to see if there is a way I can use it with Network sharing turned off, as on the NON USB TG582n's
Not a support query as other thing take precedence for now, however an observation & for informational for future purposes
Regarding the USB feature
The Booklet that came with it does not mention the USB however it has pictures of both USB & NON USB routers
What format(s) do the USB TG582n support
It sees all 3 partitions on a 1TB HDD & says wrong format (however will it be able to utilise all 3 partitions if formatted correctly)
Any known issue(s) I may need to be made aware of
Is there any documentation I can swat up on
I it's accessed by ftp (is that the only option / way)

1. Turned off all power management (Via CLI) (did you manage to turn off the USB) ?
2. Changed Wireless setting from 130n to 144n
Which do you think is most likely to stabilise the issue(s) at hand
Or
Do you think it is most likely a combination of the both
I am suspecting Number 2 to be the most likely as that is 1 I had not changed
Keep us posted either way
The Network Discovery had to be turned on Via the Laptop O/S Vista in this case, since I installed Plex on it, (albeit temporary as I am going to build a FreeNAS dedicated server as soon as I get the time)
Have not make any other settings change to the router since Post #117
I have found an interesting thread & Website referring to channelwidths
Anyone had any success with the telnet command: wireless radio channelwidth= ?

Rebooted tablet, and still doing odd things. Phone working fine, as was ethernet.
Sync came back after a reboot, but still it was doing odd things. Looked in the router logs and saw alit of instances of 'login wireless station (tablet mac) cannot get authorised. Its done this before at random times but not this bad.
Switched wireless on and off, things better, but another odd issue that webpages would not load completely, but after they appear to have loaded still have the spinning circle in the webpage tab. Location services also partially failed.
Switched off router, and tethered tablet to phones 3g connection.
Surprisingly (not) now everything working perfectly, webpages all load up fine and sync working etc etc. I am stumped as to why the router has issues authenticating my tablet. I have double and triple checked the passkey, and this NEVER happened with android phone, as I wondered if passphrase was to long. Typing this tethered to phone.

No issues of any kind to report at this time, although I would not like to potentially speak to soon, albeit a short > Long wait so no holding breaths
If it is going to happen it will be a matter of time as the old router took over 10 days before the WiFi / Ethernet dropouts occurred, then they were fairly consistent on a daily basis
@Penfold
As you are still using your original TG582n
With Reflashing the Firmware to the 8.4.4.J
We all should end up having a better idea if it is a Firmware or Hardware related issue
I am so intrigued & determined to find out the root cause & cure / Fix, even though we are in the minority
As we may hopefully be the ones to find a Fix / Workaround / Full cure, in the rare case others end up facing the same / similar issue(s)
Keep that Billion boxed & under wraps as we don't want you get it dirty before its official outing

Out of interest did you upgrade yours from 8.x yourself or did plusnet do it? If not whats your setup to see if there are any similarities. Mine is....
1 samsung galaxy s3 mini. Android 4.1.1 wireless on standard dhcp
1 htc wildfire s android 2.5 wireless on standard dhcp
1 samsung galaxy tab 10.2 android 4.2.2 wireless on standard dhcp
1 laptop hp g61. Windows 7 sp1 wireless mainly on standard dhcp
Samsung sky+hd box wired to 5 port switch directly wired to router
Sony bluray player wired to the 5 port switch
Netgear homeplugs 1 wired to switch, the other connecting desktop to network running win7
Dlink nas connected to the switch

Therefore I do not know if they originally had the 8.4.4.J then upgraded to 10.2.2.B EH Firmware or just the 10.2.2.B from the Factory.
Perhaps Kelly or _Adam_Walker_ could try & find out (hint hint )
My setup consists of
Droid Tablets x 2 ==========> WiFi
Droid Phablet x 1 ===========>WiFi
Win7 Netbook x 1 ===========>WiFi
Vista Laptop x 1 ==============>WiFi until issue(s) started / Now Ethernet ===========> also acting as temporary Plex Server for NowTV Roku box
Win 7 Laptop x 1 ==============>Ethernet
Sony Experia Phone x 1 ==============>WiFi
Samsung Galaxy Ace x 1 ==============>WiFi
NowTV Roku x 1 ==============>WiFi ========>Modified to use Plex plus other non Sky approved oops I meant paid for apps
i-Can FreeView Box ==============>Ethernet ==============>Forgot to include
Test Rigs vary from XP through Win 8.1 Via VMWare not always used on a daily basis ==============> Ethernet
External HDD x 2 ==========> 1 x 500GB =======> 1 x 1TB ==========> swap between devices when required
All devices are fully up to date including Network card drivers where applicable
Edit:
Forgot to include Freeview box

Update (pick your own number)
Great news as no dropouts at this time
However FireFox is running a tad slow on the forum (which I think it is a FireFox <=======> Forum ======> Browser issue)
Since
All other site(s) & pages open normally
Since the optimised sync reboot

Set tablet up this evening. Not had any LOGIN Wireless station cannot get authorised as yet, but early days...
1 thing I have noticed is alot of firewall activity. FIREWALL icmp check (1 of 1): Protocol: ICMP Src ip: 88.86.98.51 Dst ip: 80.229.156.222 Type: Time Exceeded Code: Time to Live exceeded in Transit
This kind of thing. Anything to be concerned about???
If this firmware continues to work fine, then where do we go???? There cant be such a widespread issue with Rev 10 or Plusnet would have heard about it!!!

In the case of firmware V's Hardware Issue(s) we have faced
I am curious if sometimes where full testing has not been completed, some not being able to diagnose, fully explain the issue(s) as is, what we have been able to, had been misconstrued dowm to a faulty router.
Take the time I phoned support for the NTP time Sync issue ( What would cause TG582n to not connect with time server(s) (SOLVED) ) that was caused by PlusNets online Firewall setting & the support staff immediately sent out a new router, without diagnosing or knowing the pre-existant issue, that had been previously documented on the forum.

Dear Mr Sir,
Thank you for your time on the phone to us today.
As discussed, you called about the time on the router not being correct. I have arranged for a replacement router to be sent out as you require the time to be correct for the disconnection logs.
We hope that this helps.

Kind regards,

Therefore How Many Has actually gone Undetected ?
Note: to PlusNet staff
I think that as frustrating & time consuming as it can be, all options need to checked & verified, before new hardware is sent out on a whim.
And if in any doubt the staff should check with their colleagues, or documentation etc at the 1st instance .

I had both a WiFi & Ethernet outage,
Fix was again to turn off the WiFi Button on the router & turn it back on again after a few minutes
Looking at the logs for the time of the outage all I can see is green ticks

Therefore it is now leading me towards a hardware issue, more that a Firmware issue
Overall that is 3 TG582n's in my house that is suffering from this issue
2 X NON USB on 10.2.2.B EH Firmware
1 X USB on 8.4.4.J Firmware
It is a strange issue as I dont understand why
1, Just WiFi can be affected on it's own
2. Both WiFi & Ethernet is affected
3. Turning off / on WiFi typically restores connectivity
4. Sometimes No: 4 fails & have to turn off / on by the little black button to restore connectivity
There is nothing like C/H Boiler, Fridges, Microwaves etc turning on / off at the time of disruption
Just checked the DSL stats
Quote Uptime: 0 days, 17:11:49

Looking at the timing it does seem to coincide, when the lights flickered in this bad weather

Do you have Facebook app installed on any one or more of your devices
Full explanation Please see
When apps are pre-installed & can not be uninstalled what are your legal rights
Quote Facebook’s phone app can read your texts, make calls and turn off Wi-Fi - should you worry?
It can read your text messages - and look at picture ones - and has the right to turn off your phone’s Wi-Fi, without telling you. Other popular apps can use your exact location - and make silent calls.
I know it state "Your Phones WiFi" However is it or could it be the cause of the WiFi / Ethernet connectivity issues ?
I am also wondering if because some of the new permissions that got installed Via an update without my knowledge & permissions (the TG582n is blocking their access) by shutting down the connections ?
