What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

Do PN's systems record xDSL or PPP session durations?
Not wanting to tempt fate, I've had a 61 day xDSL session (PPP is a few hours less due to PN profile update) and was wondering how far short of the record this might be?
My link has survived the multiplicity of BTOR and BGN gateway network issues.  Though on a moderately long line - (attenuation 50.5dB) running ADSL2 synch is 5.1Mbps at 3dB - the connection has been rock steady using the much-maligned TG582n router, albeit on the later firmware version 10.2.2.B.
If time permits, I'd like a radius plot for the scrap book please!  Would need to go back to early July, if the data is still available.
Really very happy with this service - thank you!

Re: What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

Don't you want to remind everyone that your ADSL connection to the exchange is nothing to do with Plusnet? If you're keen to point out faulty or poor quality telephone cabling between your house and the exchange is the responsibility of Openreach, then I would have thought Openreach ought to get some credit for your presumably reasonably good line.

Re: What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

ejs,
That is more than fair... I guess that I also need to recognise that after 10+days lost service back in June (due to a severed river cable) I have an improved e-side cable too.  My xDSL session longevity is indeed entirely down to BTOR equipment stability.
The PPP session though is additionally dependent upon stable PlusNet services.
Cheers,
Kevin

Re: What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

I think my longest session on plusnet is about 80-90 days, the problem is BTw seem to do maintenance on their network which kills PPP and plusnet like to kick users to rebalance I was kicked off PPP only yesterday.
My longest ever session was on ADSL on a LLU isp using SRA which lasted almost 2 years was ages ago.

Re: What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

I think I've had 90ish days PPP, which out lasted some line drops.
Currently on FTTC I'm at:
Quote
thundertank.avatastic.co.uk Linux/3.3.8 (mips) OpenWrt/12.09
22:39:45 up 24 days,  5:44,  load average: 0.20, 0.12, 0.13
Line up: 34 days, 20:40:19 - PPP Up: 5 days, 20:12:20 - via pcl-ag07
Modem Up: 34 days, 20:40:34.  Downstream: 38036 kbps. Upstream: 11945 kbps.

The PPP was at 18.5 days before its last drop.

Think mine was up for over 100 days recently...can't tell exactly because I hadn't noticed that it dropped about 5 days ago!

Hi Kevin,
You had a disconnection on 16/07/2014 but you've been online for 60 days since then!
Here's your graph:

Excellent! This is why I love Plusnet, despite its faults. How many other ISPs would bother providing a graph like that, when it's not even in connection with a fault query? Well done, Linn.

Re: What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

They could make this kind of information available in the member centre, so that we wouldn't have to ask someone to get it for us, but that's not likely to happen. I don't think having to do something manually is something to celebrate when it could be done automatically.
The graph supplied is of PPP sessions, not DSL events.

I don't think keeping the router in the exchange counts!  Grin

Re: What is the longest recorded xDSL session?

I had 131 days VDSL connection on BT Infinity 2 (3147 hours reported by BaldEagle's modem stats).  As pointed out above, that is all Openreach equipment so would have been the same for Plusnet.
Not sure how long a PPP session, I think I reset that at least a couple of times during that period for some reason or another.
