Hi folks.
Win 7/Firefox / Lenovo 535 Laptop. Awful variations seen recently. Belkin N router on 24/7. Downloads slow and jerky. BTW figures somewhat incomprehensible and only partly explaining what I see.
29/03/14 11.15;
Actual download speed 0.19 Mbps. DSl Rate 5.440 Mps. upload 0.45 Mbps. Profile 4.5 Mbps. Belkin agrees with line rate and upload figures. Not wireless..all copper connections!
Not connected to master box (in roof) but no changes to hardware etc., Not long ago performance very much better Usual router checks all OK. How come the profile looks good but not the actual performance?

Thanks Brian.
Today it is given as 3.0 Mbps by your ref. Belkin says 3.840K at noise margin 9db. Have not tried BTW today. I will try more if time does not run out!.
Recently a lot of variations of several data figures. I am on a long (2 KM) overhead.mostly, to a small exchange. There seems to be a fair amount of BTO bodies up poles and down holes which may be a clue.

Are your speeds still OK?
You are having quite a few drops on your connection recently;

Does your phone line have any interference/cracking on it?

Hi Chris,
Thanks for log, I have not noticed any disconnections of late but they must have had some effect. Down speeds are a bit better:- Line Down 6720K, noise 10db, Down rate 2.90M Profile 3.0\M.
It looks like DLM is sort of working and the jittery downloads have gone away, which is a relief. I have had line speeds of over 7M at times with single figure noise margins but the profile might be throttling things. What BTW have been up to I cannot imagine. Any views?

I have been looking at router data since the last post and see a slow deterioration of Download rate and noise margin is happening. Luckily displaying videos is not hampered so far but it might be if this continues. There has been no evidence of crackling on the phone at all recently. All very strange when, at times I have been getting Down rate 7360K, Noise margin 9db at the beginning of March!
