What happens to direct debits after migration?

Finally about to migrate (this evening / tomorrow morning  Sad ) and have one last question: What happens to the direct debit once I'm gone? Is it auto cancelled by PN, has to be cancelled by writing to bank, or cancelled somehow through the help asistant as this page suggests: https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=direct_debit&s=1&redirected=yes "To cancel your Direct Debit Instruction, please use the Help Assistant." I tried looking in the help assistant but nothing realy DD related seems to be available there.

Hi there,
Once you have migrated out, you can either ask your bank to remove the Direct Debit instruction (you may be able to do this via online banking) or alternatively you can go to:
https://www.plus.net/wizard/index.html#
- Customer Services & Billing
- Billing and Payment
- Update my Direct Debit details
- Close popup window
- Alternatively, ask your question to the Support Team
then we'll be able to do this for you.

It's always good practice for you to write to your bank and cancel a direct debit yourself rather than relying on a third party to do it for you, however honest and reliable you may think they are - after all, it is YOUR instruction to the bank to pay money.  I always prefer to "lock the door" myself rather than "leaving the key with visitors"
