What do you make of these router stats?

Good morning peeps!  Smiley
I have a Plusnet supplied Thomson TG585 v8 router which is connected directly to the master socket, however I get very high levels of errors.
I was hoping for your intelligent minds to tell me why this would be, or if it is normal, or what possibly I could do to reduce them.
I am aware that my line attenuation is high as I live about 3.5km away from my exchange, but these error numbers never used to get above double figures!
I have changed the micro-filter which leads to the router to see if the other was a defect but still the high errors remain.
Also run a quite line test which doesn't illustrate any noise on my line.

Uptime:                                                                    2 days, 12:14:02
DSL Type:                                                                G.992.1 annex A
Channel mode:                                                      Interleave
Maximum Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:  876 / 3,904
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]:                    448 / 3,648
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/GB]:      0.00 / 1.71
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]:                        11.5 / 18.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]:                        30.0 / 50.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]:                                  20.0 / 8.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote):                                  TMMB / ALCB
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote):                      0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote):                          0 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote):                          0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote):                                        0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote):                        66,851 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down):                                      405 / 27,622,553
CRC Errors (Up/Down):                                      395 / 65,701
HEC Errors (Up/Down):                                      263 / 527,324

These stats show that I am syncing at 3,648, however I continue to run speedtests via ethernet and cannot reach above 1.75Mb/s and mere uploads of 0.04Mb/s!  Help!

Any advice and help you can give me would be very much appreciated, thank you.  Cheesy

Hi Tudderz,
I've ran line tests and even been on to BT and your profile is definitely 3000k, Not sure why you're not quite getting nearer to that. Have a look here for some tips.

Re: What do you make of these router stats?

Thank you for checking Jojo, I just ran through those tips and grabbed an old Tiscali Thomson v7 out the loft and it synced at a higher rate of 3,904.
Ran a speedtest again, and wow got 2.89Mb/s!

Upload is still very low though.  Huh
And after just 10 mins have FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 19,733 is that normal to have so many?

Are you running the test wired or wireless?

Changed the filter...

I have changed the micro-filter which leads to the router to see if the other was a defect but still the high errors remain.

Tried with a different router, which did see the download speed increase over 1Mb/s...

And yes I am in the test socket.

Re: What do you make of these router stats?

Jojo,
I believe the alternate router has resolved my problem, just ran another speedtest and uploads are much higher, and this router is now syncing at 4,064.  Smiley

HI Trudderz,
If your sync stays that high then your profile should lift to 3500 within a week.

Re: What do you make of these router stats?

Hi Jojo,
Just to say we had a BT engineer out today as things were not getting any better, and well he found a fault along the line which he has fixed Smiley  Good chap...
He said that was giving the drop-outs and extremely high errors. So glad he fixed it Smiley
But he told me to get in touch with my ISP to get a SNR reset, and/or a line retrain, which ever they recommend, as the line is now free of noise.
Could one of your lovely Plusnet people please do this for me.
Thank you  Cheesy
