Websites slow to connect

Hi,
For the past few months I've been having trouble connecting to websites, downloading podcasts, watching videos on my laptop. My wife has also had this issue with her laptop. It takes a few goes to connect before it's ok. Sometimes I have an error message with 'ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED' at the bottom before it automatically loads the website.

Except that my iphone and ipad appear to work ok.
Oh and I thought it might be to do with my virus checker so I uninstalled that and it worked fine until Windows Defender kicked in and then it the loading issue started again.

If you can amend router's DNS settings (you can't on P Net HubOne :(, ) change to
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
