Seems like you were right.
A couple of hours after I posted my update above, my line speed suddenly jumped to 1.2mbps, and has remained there, pretty much since, although there have been a few drops back to 0.4mbps according to the samknows.one logs so maybe someone at PN did a reset, or it just fixed itself. (Openreach certainly didn't do anything!)
Still not update to the speed fault ticket however.
Anyway, I've attached a new router log for you and yes I'm on a Thompson 585 V8 router.
However will probably switch to fibre now so I don't have to go through this all again in another few months just as soon as PN actually get around to updating my fault ticket with whatever rubbish BT told them.
