Hi,
I've only been connected to plusnet for 24hrs, but my speeds seem pretty consistent:
[quote="BT test 0930 today"] Download speedachieved during the test was - 5.68 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 5.72 Mbps
[quote="BT test 0930 today"]Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.3Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.45 Mbps
My concern is that "Upstream Rate IP 0.45 Mbps" as I was reaching an average of around 0.52 with talktalk. My download speed is now about double, and my ping half what it used to be, so I'm pretty happy with that.
Some basic info:
Wired connection to TG582n router, desktop machine (Phenom-II CPU 4GB RAM) on XP sp3, router is plugged directly into main BT socket, no other devices apart from phone. Used new cables & micro-filter.
Possible cause: I've recently (7-8 weeks ago) had a line break in the main cable outside my house. This fault left me with no phone/ADSL for a week, and talktalk were unable to detect the fault, and claimed it'd take over 3 weeks before an engineer could check. As there was damage to the box on the wall outside my house (& because I found the broken cable myself within a minute of examining the internals of the box!) I got Openreach involved, and they repaired the fault within 24rs.. (this did prompt my move to plusnet!). So, I am wondering might my upload have been capped due to the noise on the line prior to it failing completely? (I did have significant noise on the phone line for some months prior to it failing completely).
I can perform any tests/changes suggested, but thought may be best asking here first, to see if the line has been limited in some way.
Thanks for any help/advice offered!
Edit: adding stats from router.

Hi chrisaplus,
It looks as though your upload speeds are capped, I've just placed an order for them to be uncapped, this should complete at some point tomorrow. I'm confident that this will get that sorted out for you.
If you have any further problems, do let me know

Thanks Chris,
speeds are now about what I expected:
[quote="BTW test"] Download speedachieved during the test was - 5.1 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 5.45 Mbps
[quote="BTW test"]Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.83Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
Having been in the area for 10 years or so I know the maximum upload speed around here is about 0.8 - 0.9 Mbs. What I'm really impressed about tho is the Plusnet team sorting this out within 24hrs of my raising the issue!
