I left my router plugged into the backplate of the master socket from 22:00 yesterday until 13:45 today, I logged this on the ticket. Did you manage to check if my sync speed to see if it improved? I see others here are having similar problems!

At risk of cutting across your discussions by ticket are you aware that you can get your synch speed, attenuation and noise margin direct from your router.
If you can advise the model of router we should be able to advise how to get them.
if you post them here it may enable us to get an indication of the source of the problem.

Hi Alben,
I don't think the faults team picked up your message about the timescales until after they had already passed.
As Oldjim says, you can get your line stats including sync speeds etc from your router, choose your router from the dropdown link here and it'll tell you how to get most of them.

Hi Alben,
Just update your Plusnet profile to match your IP profile. you should now be getting around 1000kbps instead of 500kbps
on inspection of the line details remotely, I can assure you that you will get about 2000kbps if you get rid of the extension cable and try the master socket using the cable provided with the router to the Microfilter, Say No to Extension Wires
once you got rid of the extension cable you need to maintain the connection for 3 days solidly to get your IP profile updated to 2000 or more possibly.
Extension lead is causing even a dropping connection

Ok, I have changed the faceplate of the master socket and disconected from it a cable going to the skybox, this was not plugged in but did not have a filter fitted, also disconected the bell wire. The extension sockets had wires terminated on all connections! have disconected these and reterminated 2 and 5. Unable to access the BT speedtester as within 3hrs of last test but the plusnet speedtest has shown speeds in the region of 3000kbps, though my upstream speed has dropped slightly. Below are the stats from my router, given these due you think I may see a further improvement?
Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 4064 Kbps 448 Kbps
Attainable Line Rate 4608 Kbps 1124 Kbps
Noise Margin 15.2 dB 22.0 dB
Line Attenuation 26.0 dB 21.0 dB
Output Power 12.3 dBm 19.5 dBm

If you leave it alone now hopefully your default noise margin will drop and you will get a higher synch speed.
