Very slow broadband speed

I have joined Plusnet one month ago and my broadband speed is not even hitting 1mb/s( Minimum Guaranteed speed is 1.2Mb). And I got email form Plusnet saying my lane speed is 7.1mb. My estimate speed is Download 3-7mb and upload 1Mb ( 50mbps plan, that's around 7mb/s, right?). We tried to contact Plusnet but no one is answering calls or live chat.

I did change my modem router to brand new. ( TP-Link 300 Mbps) And did everything what Plustnet help video sayed. ( But I can't check line with the phone, I don't have one)

I don't know what to do, I'm at the point where I'm getting upset because speed is so low, I can't even watch 2 videos on Youtube at 1080p.... I don't even talk about downloading large files.( For that I have to use my phone hot spot!!! and it easily hits 10mb/s DOWNLAOD SPEED!!!)

Re: Very slow broadband speed

@deividas451  Welcome to the forums.

Did you get a router from PlusNet - if so try then rather then the TP-Link one.

I also assume you are not using Wi-Fi, if you are then it might be Wi-Fi interference, which PlusNet cannot do anything about except advise of possible workarounds. All testing should be done using a wired connection

Have you done the trouble shooting guide?  https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/connection-troubleshooting/

At the download speeds you have been told you would be likely to get I doubt you will get proper 1080p videos working anyway.

Its always useful for emergency's to have a corded landline phone anyway - you can get one for about a 5 quid nowadays. So you can test for noise on the line.

Re: Very slow broadband speed

I got router from PlustNet but TP-Link is much better one, I did the guide like 5 times. The only thing left to do is test line for noise, I guess I need to get corded landline phone.. -.-
