I'd be interested, just to see what difference you get from using a different router and then perhaps a different microfilter. If it doesn't make any difference, then we'll have to explore other avenues.

I'll try and replace the microfilter around 7pm tonight and then overnight I'll switch off the wireless access point.  I plan to run with a TP-Link router sometime tomorrow for a few hours.  Hopefully the TBB graphs after those changes will help isolate the problem.

Ran the router overnight with no wireless access point enabled from midnight until 7am.  At 7am I changed the microfilter so we'll see how that goes today.

I haven't yet run with my old router, do you still need to see some TBB graphs running with that before I raise the fault?
I'd say that changing the micro-filter has slightly improved my speeds but the TBB graphs still have that erratic look to them where I can see two hours or so where something unexplained is going on.

Ideally, we could do with trying a different router, just to be sure.

I've connected with my old TP-Link router for now and will try the usual tests for an hour so.  My initial reaction is that it hasn't affected the problem at all since the TBB graphs are showing a large amount of latency right at the moment.  I'll raise a fault and reference this forum thread.  Many thanks for your help so far.

The fault has been raised but no response as yet from the support team.  The ping graph from last night looks like a massive block of blue so I hope someone can get to the bottom of this soon.

OK, thanks. I'm just testing again back with the BT Test socket since the ping times are very poor at the moment and then I'll arrange the visit from the engineer.  I am getting a faster connection speed when connected to the test socket as we'd seen before so there is some degradation from the internal house extension so I'll obviously look at getting that resolved but connected to the test socket is doing nothing to improve the poor ping times.  This is my latest tracert to a vodafone.de server:

Disappointingly the engineer is a no-show for this morning's appointment.  Was this a BT OpenReach engineer that was supposed to be attending? 
The problem seems to be getting worse as the periods of high latency and poor ping times are getting longer and longer.  The ping graphs from the last 24 hours look pretty terrible.

I'm sorry to hear that the engineer didn't attend, I'll investigate why.
Do you know when you could be further available for a visit? Possibly tomorrow at all?

Tomorrow would be difficult.  I'm here all day today so if the engineer was delayed then he can still come to the property today.  Alternatively Monday would be okay but I'd also like to know why they didn't show up today.

There has been a problem on the resourcing side of things.
We booked the engineer but our suppliers didn't advise us that there isn't any resource for an engineer to visit, I'm really sorry that's what's happened 😕
I've re-booked the engineer for Monday - AM Slot. I'll chase this up with our suppliers in about an hour to ensure there is sufficient resource for this visit.
