Very Slow Upload Speed on my Broadband

Hi Plusnet Community,
It has been apparent for many weeks that the upload speed is at a ridiculous speed.
For example: I had a 5.4gb video uploading to youtube, I left the computer connected for 14hrs and only 36% of the video was uploaded.
From all my upload speed tests it varies from 36kbps to 45kbps.
This is remarkably slow.
I have checked the router and located the line rate - Upstream / Downstream.
The results are as follows:
Line Rate - Upstream (Kbps): 448
Line Rate - Downstream (Kbps): 13087
*Surely this is below the standard*
I have never had such a slow upload speed, and I can't stream any game play either, due to the very low rate upload speed.

(Something needs changing) looks like we're restricted a lot.

1.9 GB in 14 hours works out to around 40 KB/s. Uploading a 5.4GB file will take a long time on ADSL!
The 448kbps upload is the standard upload speed, but as you appear to be on ADSL2+ you can ask to have it "uncapped" for free, to about 1Mbps.

The 0.365Mbps upload reported by broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk looks about right for your sync speed. At that rate the upload should take about 33 hours.
If you have the upload uncapped you'll probably double the upload speed and maybe a little bit more.
The only way you will get upload faster than that is by going to fibre if it is available to you.

Thanks for the replies, the upload rate is still far too slow, I'll have to see about getting the line uncapped.
Is it easy to get sorted?
(Fibre Optic) was installed in my estate a long time ago, but not actually installed for use (not connected).
Virgin Media have been contacting us for like 2 years and the same result is (we can't have it). + I dislike VM (my Son used them at University) poor service from them.
Anyway, hopefully something can be done.
I can't do anything with that speed.

I think there is one based in my town (literally a mile or so away)

Not good - fibre isn't even scheduled for your exchange.

I know, If I remember correctly, it was like 10 years ago when NTL I believe, had installed the capabilities of Fibre Optic, however... this has not happened as of yet.
My son had 50MB Fibre Optic (nothing but problems with wireless) connected via the ethernet up two floors.
Hope the UL Speed can at least be near 1mb. 🙂 or treble what it is at the moment.
