Value and SKYPE

Hi
Thinking of moving the parents to Value, from Legacy PAYG. They use a pittance of useage each month, and all they use the connection for is surfing, E-Mail but more importantly, using SKYPE to talk to my sister in China, with a video link.  I see that streaming is unrestricted on Value, but is SKYPE video calls classed as streaming??  They are on a market 3 exchange, so this would save then quite a few pennies.  Can anyone advise please
Speed is also not an issue, as they have a fixed 1Mb connection, that they would like to keep. They had MAX, but with the stats, I had them moved back to fixed rate ( stats currently on Fixed rate 65dB attn, 9dB SNR)
Cheers

Re: Value and SKYPE

Morning,
It should be classed the same as services such as the Iplayer. I can't see any reason why it would not be.

Re: Value and SKYPE

Our son is living in Chicago, I presently use Jajah to phone him as cheaply as possible.  Presumably Skype would enable me to see him whilst talking?  The variety of telephone providers blows my mind, those of us in our middle years have difficulty in keeping up with the rapidly-changing technology.
Any advice welcome!

Yes no trouble with Video on Skype, and its free PC to PC, only trouble is making sure that he will be on line at the same time

Re: Value and SKYPE

So is Skype and MSN classified as VOIP or P2P by PN for traffic purposes?

Re: Value and SKYPE

Hi,
Skype is treated as VoIP and therefore Titanium on our network.
MSN is classed as MSN Smiley  That's Gold on our network.  MSN voice should be in Titanium though.
