Re: VPN fine for 9 months, stopped working Jan.

Hi scrookes,

I've been connecting succesfully to a Co-OP VPN (BT Mobile Express) for 7 months but now believe I have the same issue as mentioned above.  I've sent you a private message with required details.  Would really appreciate it if you could apply the fix to my account too.

Re: VPN fine for 9 months, stopped working Jan.

The VPN is use is ProXPN

It works fine for me. I load it up and say I'm in New York, and thus can then watch Crackle all day long.

ProXPN. Works a treat..

Thought I'd share, in case you wanted to give it ago and see if that works for you.

(EDIT - scratch that, mine also doesn't work. Crackle with my vpn running now refuses to load, and gives me the generic "This page can't be displayed" response.)

its probably because I have a Static ip and my VPN can't change that IDK.

Glad I checked

Re: VPN fine for 9 months, stopped working Jan.

Hi Bob (or anyone available),

I have the same issue at home when my wife needs to work using Cisco VPN. It reports a connection Timeout or Authentication Error.  I was extremely disappointed when I used the Customer Portal chat mechanism to talk to an Agent today and describe the issue, only to be told; "Sorry we cannot support VPN through this portal, please use the Forums".

I have already explained to the Agent that if my wife and I cannot work from home using VPN over PlusNet, we would need to cancel our contract and service with immediate effect - it is not fit for purpose.

Is there a solution to this?

@kevinsneddon

Can you private message me the following details please and I will take a look for you:

username:

client software and version:

endpoint ip:

where you work:

Sorry to ask so many questions but we do need to understand where the VPN is routing so we can investigate.

Re: VPN fine for 9 months, stopped working Jan.

Thanks for taking my call.  Seems my PM reply was sent twice for some reason.  Let me know how you get on following the reboot please.  I'm back in the office on Friday if it still doesn't work.  I'll take a further look then.

Hi @scrookes and @bobpullen

I think I also have this problem with VPN connectivity - it used to work ok but now I can't connect.

I have PM'd you with the full details. Hopefully you can help resolve.

Thanks.

Re: VPN fine for 9 months, stopped working Jan.

I have the same problem as mentioned many times here. I have been connecting successfully via VPN using BT Mobile Express with a wired connection, however this has suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason, with error message 12275. Please help!

you need a static ip address and the problem disappears.

Go to member settings.  Click add-ons.  It costs £5.  That solved the problem for me.

Re: VPN fine for 9 months, stopped working Jan.

You should not need to purchase a static IP to solve the problem. Doing so will alter the way your connection routes, but contacting @bobpullen or @scrookes will help diagnose the issue, and hopefully help others.

Let them know the info they have already asked, hopefully they will help resolve your issue.
