VDSL2 Modem/Router

Hi all,
My cabinet has finally been upgraded however I'm unsure on the best option / setup to proceed with.
Should I;
1. Keep the OpenReach Modem + Use my DSL-N55U in router mode (may purchase a new AC router)
- Benefits; Able to upgrade router/make changes/reboot without effecting the modem sync/dlm etc..
- Downfalls; untidy, use's more power
2. Use a VDSL2 Modem Router, DSL-AC68U seems to be the only option.
- Benefits; Tidy, less power, all configuration in one place.
Thanks in advance

Re: VDSL2 Modem/Router

I would keep the OpenReach Modem + router, if you need to drop session or reboot router, easy and no chance of losing modem sync with cabinet, with your split modem + router option.

Re: VDSL2 Modem/Router

There's an increasing choice for combined units if you do decide to go down that route. Eg

PN were/are trialing the Thomson TG589 but others are now available around the £50 mark

There was a thread in April discussing some of the options
