VDSL wiring

Is there likely to be any discernible difference in performance between the following two setups:
i)  NTE5 > supplied lead to BTOR modem >12 metres of cat5E > billion 7800n
ii) NTE5 > 12 metres of cat5E > BTOR modem > billion 7800n

Re: VDSL wiring

i) This is the better option and the speed will be (potentially) better with this. Whether it will make any difference, I cannot say. However, if you can, choose option i.

Many thanks for the quick response.  If BTOR supply their optional extension kit where does that fit in?

Re: VDSL wiring

I have an existing 12 metres run of cat5E from near to the NTE5 to another NTE5 type socket adjacent to the current modem's position so I was thinking of just linking the second NTE5 and the modem together using an RJ11 lead.
