Usual BT speedtester question

Been synced at over 8131kbps for nearly 7 days which should give a 7150kbps put through.
Just checked BT speed tester and its LP is 6500kbps?
Your DSL Connection Rate :8131 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 1107 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6500 Kbps

Router stats
Uptime: 6 days, 19:22:22
Modulation: G.992.5 Annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1.107 / 8.131

Speedtester issue or stuck profile ?
Ticket #39705700 just in case Wink
Thx f9o

Hi force9original,
Your routers uptime may be 6 days but your connection isn't I'm afraid...

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Thats strange?Huh
Nothing in the router log.....hmmm
Is that chart  showning dropped PPP sessions instead of dropped sync ?
A snap shot of the speedtouch  Smiley
Thanks for taking a look  Smiley

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

I couldn't tell you whether it was dropping auth or sync. They're the connections to our server but router uptime can often mean the time the router has been powered up rather than constant sync.

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Its looks like auth not sync.....
Looking one the Speedtouch's PPP internet connection information it says uptime 1day , 0:08:53
which would tie in with at last dropout on the chart yesterday evening around this time frame ?Huh
thx f9o

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Still at 6500 on the speed tester.... Undecided
Can not seem to find any resyncs below 7392Kbps in the past 9 days .....lowest seems to be the 8087 ( current sync )
I'm on the DLM trail, so it kind of defeats the object of it , if the put through is stuck at 6500Kbps?
Thanks f9o

Hi f9o,
Still a lot of drops. I've not put them in the graph as you can't see all the drops that were close together.

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Thanks jojo...
Its easier for me to check......
The speedtouch only says auth session drops, not sync  (*apart from that last one at 00:55) 11/Feb/201 which is a nuisance to try and get a handle on things as the likes of routerstats doesn't not highlight any issues  Undecided
Looks like its a case of test another router & take things from there.
Thanks again for taking the time to look   Smiley

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Changed routers & left things alone for a while.
BT LP is now 7150kbps  Smiley
However speed tests seem locked at 6500kbps. Stuck Plusnet profile ?
Ticket # 40181521 just in case.
Those radius charts really help.
It would be great if the customer could access/generate the charts themselves,  say under connection settings for example?
Thanks f9o

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Hi f9o,
I've just had a look at the speed test from yesterday and the throughput was 6762k so it's definitely on a 7150 profile.

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

Are you sure on the accuracy of bt speedtester at the moment. ? Its givening some way out results recently  Undecided
The put throught "feels" stuck at 6500.
Both Speedtest.net & MyBroadbandspeed gives the same at verious times during the day/night.

Could the hard profile thats set on the line something to consider or something  obvious  that i'm missing?Huh
Thanks for taking at look, its appreciated !  Smiley

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

HI Force9Original,
You'd never get 6499 throughput on a 6500 profile.

Re: Usual BT speedtester question

It seems from past experiance its something on the plusnet LP side of things or me missing something obvious on the router settings.
Reminds me very much of old Plusnet bug of a stuck 2500kbps line profile even though it said different in connection settings.
Since the the hard profile line set i can't seem to get put through above 6500kbps (speedtest/mybroadband ect) dispite a synce over 8300 which as you say would give 7150 put through.
I could try & step the sync up over 9088kbps and see what happens ( it would be pushing things on the snr but its forcast settled weather)
Any other ideas or something to try would be most welcome  Smiley
Thanks again f9o
