Using TG582n with Apple Airport Extreme

I wish to use my new Technicolor TG582n Plusnet Modem/Router with my  Apple Airport Extreme Wireless Router, ie use it only as a Modem.
I understand the TG582n wireless router side can be switched off using the Wi Fi switch on the unit.  Has anybody had any problems with this configuration?
Also, what is the WPS switch on the TG582n used for?

In case you're not aware WPS means WiFi protected set up and is intended to be an alternate method of connecting wireless devices:

Adam, I think he's talking more about using TG582n in bridge mode and having the AirPort handle DHCP/NAT? I started a thread explaining how to do it once, let me find it...
