Uploading Problems Since Friday

There's already a thread on the board about problems with 51.6.xxx.xxx IP range since Friday, but it appears to be a more general problem somewhere in the Plusnet network. My current IP is 209.93.xxx.xx

I have been suffering sporadic problems with uploading to some ftps/websites since Friday. For instance, no problem uploading to plusnet webspace ftp. But on a US-based webspace ftp, I have been getting problems. Works for a few hours, then drops to 1 or 2 kb/s with constant timeouts for few hours. The timeouts are generally in the first couple of hops. Today, the same is occurring in trying to upload to tumblr. Worked fine for a couple hours, now impossible for the next few hours. Doesn't matter if switch DNS servers from plusnet to google's. Tracerts below:

Hi netspeed,

Diagnostics are indicating a dropping connection fault. Our own logs back this up to so I doubt the issues are related to DNS or the IP address.

Nah, I don't think so. My connection wasn't dropping at all. Just uploading and some sites weren't working. Seems I wasn't alone. I just read this huge thread been running over a week:

And Plusnet just put out this email:

Fingers crossed, I won't be reporting any fault. I had the same fault as all those other poor plusnet customers. Whatever network fix report as being made today, seems to be working. Like the waving of a magic wand, uploading and all sites seem to be working again.

You may have been affected by that issue to but I wouldn't overlook what we see happening from our side if you're still seeing issues.

There was one drop this afternoon that I noticed; I'm guessing forced.

Only other drops I know of were deliberate, me trying to get change of IPs by disconnecting to see if would improve things. Plusnet IPs seem a lot stickier these days. Much harder to get a new one than in past. Disconnect doesn't seem enough. Have to leave router off for 20 or 30 minutes. I guess til system reassigns the IP you were on to someone else.

Changes of IP made no difference to the uploading/net issues.  Whatever fix been made to the network today has. From total inability to upload anything above 10kb file, I can now upload as normal .... at a few hundred kb/sec. Let's hope it lasts.
