Upload sppeds?

Hi all,

For us, we're getting decent download speeds at the moment of about 1.7 Mbps, but upload speeds are around 0.05, and ping latency is around 120. We only use the web for emails and web browsing, no gaming.

Is this a problem that needs fixing? Some websites (eg bank site) can be really slow to load and navigate.

If your BT exchange is a CN20 exchange, 500mb is it; if it's a CN21, you should enjoy 8/900mb;

check here for exchange classification.

It probably is CN20 with no date for an update to 21CN. It's far too rural for BT to give a damn about.

Our download speed is okay - a lousy 1.2 Mbps is what we usually get, so 1.7 is amazing !!

It's the low upload speeds and ping rate I was querying as I'm not sure how these will affect day-to-day browsing.

Exchange Checker is badly out of date, as my exchange still says no date for 21CN though I've had for 5 months, and my upload speed(on long line/ rural exchange) then doubled, after PN uncapped.

Marginal increase in d/load too because of my line length; if I was nearer, gather I'd have seen good improvement

there too; averages at 2.5mbps.

Currently on holiday in N Cornwall, miles from anywhere & amazed I get 12.5mbps here.

@DRF You're on 21CN but your upload is capped.

I've placed a modify order to uncap this for you, however as you're currently way below the upload cap (Synced at 99 upload with a 448 cap) I can't guarantee this will bring any improvement unfortunately.

EDIT: The order should complete tomorrow.
