Upload sppeds on fibre extra.

Good afternoon,
I upgraded my fibre from value to extra a few weeks ago, have done a bt spped test (hard wired) :
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 9.21Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps
Does this result mean i should be getting more than 9.21Mbps? My download speed is at is not at its max either, still fast though  ;D.(dont understand the second line though seems strange)
Download speedachieved during the test was - 45.59 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 12 Mbps-0 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 55.54 Mbps

Thanks for any help

Re: Upload sppeds on fibre extra.

I managed to check this before I left the office, it looks like 9 MB/s is the maximum available on your line.
I will confirm this with you when I'm in the office in the morning.

Re: Upload sppeds on fibre extra.

Thanks, if that's the case no problem, do you know when speed will be increased in my area? I was just going on the B.T. speedtest.

Re: Upload sppeds on fibre extra.

It just means that there is no restriction on your upload, it depends on your distance from the cabinet as well as other things like the quality of copper.

Surely something is wrong here! The upstream profile reported by the BT speed test normally says something sensible I thought.

Re: Upload sppeds on fibre extra.

No, nothing wrong with the 20Mbps upstream profile, that's the maximum set for the line and, on FTTC, will match the product specification (2, 10 or 20Mbps), all it means is that the line is limited to this speed on upload (if it can't achieve that speed due to distance from cabinet or other reasons then it simply doesn't hit the restriction).

Re: Upload sppeds on fibre extra.

I've checked your line upload and your're actually getting higher than your estimated speed. The 20MB/s profile rate on your upload is referring to the product you're on.
