Upload speed

Done a speed test yesterday and it shows an upload speed of just  0.38mbs this seems very slow? Tried to upload photo to photobucket and after 5 mins still not uploaded. What speed for uploading should i be achieving? Download is normally around the 14mbs mark.

Thanks.

Re: Upload speed

It's possible that your upload is still capped at 448k, let me go take a look and I'll post back shortly.

Re: Upload speed

That should be sorted tomorrow for you, I've placed the order to uncap your upload. It should give you around double what you're seeing at the moment, maybe a little more.

Re: Upload speed

Plusnet are owned by BT and provide the worst service I have ever know. They have multiple broadband issues and consistently pass the buck to the customer instead of using skilled engineers to repair there faults.

I have sent in access of 40 messages and had no response to most of them  accept to close the issue as resolved. Now over 1 year and still my broadband worse than tethering of my mobile . LEAVE AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Re: Upload speed

upload has nearly doubled but 1 hr 30 mins to upload 505mb vid is ridiculous, going to look at other ISP s now.

Re: Upload speed

I'm afraid that on an ADSL connection it's very unlikely to get anything faster upload wise with any other ISP, it's the nature of the technology. You can see the estimates for the upload are up to 1Mbs.

If upload is important to you it might be worth looking at a fibre product as the uploads on those are much better, in particular the Fibre Extra service.

Re: Upload speed

ADSL can be ordered with a 448 upload, or uncapped. Sometimes the order gets placed incorrectly as 448 as this is what it defaults to in our suppliers systems.
