Upload speed of 0.33mb

My download speed is normally around 12-13mb but speed test is showing upload of 0.33mb and my router is showing connecting at 0.446.  Having been a customer since 2008, is my upload speed likely to be capped please?

@nicki77

Welcome to the forums.

I would suggest that you start with this guide to speed faults https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/ADSL-Speed-faults/m-p/1270245#U1270245 as the information will help others and Plusnet staff to help you.

Alternative there is a Plusnet guide "I Have a Fault" at https://community.plus.net/t5/Library/Broadband-Faults-Guide-I-have-a-fault/ba-p/1322773 which includes some of the information in the speed fault guide and the link to log a fault with P

Re: Upload speed of 0.33mb

Given your sync speed it is very likely that it needs uncapping and isn't a speed fault per se

Re: Upload speed of 0.33mb

I don't think it can be a fault, its been like it since I moved to Plusnet.  My current download connection speed according to my router is 14448kbps (downloading at 13mb according to speed test) and upload is 446kbps.  I know the line can only support an upload connection speed of a maximum of 1mb from BT information but my current speed does really seem low.  Current connection uptime is 8hrs, but prior to that it had been stable for about 5 or 6 days, and longer previously.  Occasionally get intereference on the phoneline, albeit it seems to have improved since my phone moved from BT to Plusnet, which often caused the connection to reconnect but not that often.  I doubt its a fault or I would be seeing far more reconnections and my upload speed would drop drastically (as has happened previously).  I think it has to be capped but hopefully someone from Plusnet could confirm.

Fix

As others have mentioned your upload speed is capped on our suppliers systems.

I've placed a order to change this and it should complete tomorrow.

Testing your line this morning is showing an improvement on your upload speeds now.

Re: Upload speed of 0.33mb

Thanks Chris, I checked it quickly early this morning before had to go out.  Upload speed has doubled which is great.  Thanks to all.

Re: Upload speed of 0.33mb

Matthew,

I seem to have the same problem.  I have been regularly checking my upload that is never above 0.4 but often down in the 0.2s.  I work remotely a couple of days a week and it's making it very difficult.  Could you apply the same fix?

Re: Upload speed of 0.33mb

Hi there,

It doesn't appear to be the same problem that's affecting yourself but line tests are picking up an issue.

I'd make sure everything here has been ruled out first then report a fault https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/connection-troubleshooting/ and http://faults.plus.net for reporting the fault.
