Upload speed of 0.2

I need to log a fault of a very poor upload speed of 0.2Mb - This is unusable for us as we need to manage my wife's art website so am frequently uploading images. Download speed is around 5 to 6 (was quoted between 6 & Cool so is also suspect.

I have tested with different filters, a completely different router and also the BT socket with no improvements witnessed.

Thanks,

Rich.

Re: Upload speed of 0.2

As you're on an older 20CN exchange (maximum download speed of 8Mb/s) then I'm afraid the upload speed is only a 448 sync rate, this means you should see between 300-400Kb/s on speedtests. If you're getting below this can you run a BT Speedtest for me, ensuring you do the further diagnostics test after the first one completes. This stores the results on the supplier system and allows us to use this to report the fault.

Re: Upload speed of 0.2

Of course this focuses on the download and my issue is with the upload.

Re: Upload speed of 0.2

Just to add, that there is a way to increase your upload past 448 kbps with the Max Premium add on. It's essentially a wholesale product we can order.

https://portal.plus.net/wizard/index.html?wizard_id=20

It does cost £7.83 per month though for up to 832 kbps.

Re: Upload speed of 0.2

Hi,

Can you tell me what would be the upload range quoted for my location if I went to Unlmited Fibre?

Cheers,

Rich.

Re: Upload speed of 0.2

Unfortunately it doesn't appear that your area is enabled to fibre yet, you can check at https://www.homeandwork.openreach.co.uk/when-can-i-get-fibre.aspx and http://dslchecker.bt.com for availability

Well the exchange is but they haven't done our road it seems. Thanks for the help anyway, I'm off for a cry.
