Upload speed and SNRM

During yesterday evening and overnight, DLM seems to have been trying to correct a problem it created on Tuesday night. Apparently, having spoken to telephone support this morning, DLM increased my d/l speed, and then realised my line couldn't handle it, so reduced it - fair enough.
Unfortunately, it whacked it down a long way, to below what I have had for the past 10 weeks or so, also looks like it 'unfixed' my d/s SNR which has been 6.0/6.1 for a while, AND mucked up my u/s speed.
BTw test results attached along with a snapshot of my JDS log. Ignore the ping - JDS seems to have got its knickers in a twist when reporting this.
Can someone on CRT have a look/comment please.

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

Your last profile change (BT side) was 2015/ 03/ 05  01: 50: 26 (to 8892k) so it's likely to say around that level. Your SNR target is currently 9.8db. We can reduce this to 6, but was this the profile which broke everything in the first place?

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

Tony - I've had a 6db profile for ages, one of the Chris's set it for me (back in January, if memory serves) and it was yesterdays BT shenanigins that sent it up to 9.8.
Just had another xDSL drop, and everything seems to have got back to normal. I will run RSL for today, and let it monitor.

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

I did an intrusive test, so it's possible this might have had something to do with it. Please keep an eye on it though.

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

Just for info, I switched off at 20.11 last night to watch a bit of TV, and lo & behold, had another re-sync @ 21.44. Something definitely going wrong, but I don't know what. I had no electrical gear switched on at that time - iPad was on recharge and I was reading from a Kindle.
And still it goes on - xDSL drop @05.31, PPP drop @ 06.15, xDSL drop @ 06.27

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

Just in case anyone is following this, I have a ticket (100401408) open on this, and I suspect - but don't know for certain - that the three drops very early his morning were BT/PN following up on this. I have certainly had a solid connection since the re-sync @ 06.27.
No update on the ticket, though.

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

Nobody's looked at your account from our end and it's still dropping this morning as per the below graph

It does look like there's a issue somewhere. Our Faults team should get back to you in the next 24 hours.

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

Cheers for that Matthew - I thought it was a bit early, but I was just hoping.  Smiley
As a point of interest, I cannot for the life of me understand the 16 day gap - so far as I know, I've been on line since I returned from my Christmas break on 08/01/15

Re: Upload speed and SNRM

I think its just a graphing anomaly so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
