The relevant firmware would be 10.2.5.2.FO (or EO). But you have to configure FO or EO once installed for ADSL or FTTC.

Thank you Anotherone.
I'd be happy to install the firmware myself if a push from Plusnet is problematic. Looking at the firmware page I see:
  Plusnet - ADSL - TG582n (with USB port) - 8.4.4.J
  Plusnet - ADSL - TG582n-PS (without USB port) - 8.4.4.J
  Plusnet - ADSL - TG582n-PS (without USB port) - 10.2.2.B
  Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 8.C.M.0
  Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 10.2.5.2.EO
  Plusnet - FTTC - TG582n (with USB port) - 10.2.5.2.FO
Is the 10.2.5.2 firmware that you have recommended FTTC-only as the description suggests or does it work for ADSL also?
I assume that .EO is for Exchange Only lines. My ADSL connection is via a cabinet, so should I install the .FO version?
What exactly do you mean please by "you have to configure FO or EO once installed for ADSL or FTTC" ?

Re: Upgrading firmware of Technicolor TG582n?

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. EO is just an earlier version - nothing to do with Exchange Only lines   The FO version is multicast capable.
There aren't that many of us that had ADSL versions with the USB port and as you can see there are two different 8.4.4.J builds depending on whether you had a USB port.  The 8.C.M.O version is Fibre only. The 10.2.5.2. versions IIRC when first run, prompt you to configure for ADSL or for FTTC - if not there is a page to select the configuration..
You should do all your configuration off-line, but of course that is especially applicable on ADSL to avoid reboots and potentially multiple drops in sync.
What OS are you using? If not Windows, see reply #37 and subsequent posts earlier in the thread. If Windows see reply #34 but also some of this may be relevant depending on your version of Windows.

Re: Upgrading firmware of Technicolor TG582n?

Hi all,
Had an issue a few months ago, open UPnP, now closed/ disabled on my TG582n.
It's a stock unit not locked to any ISP from my previous provider.
I too would like my router firmware updated please.
Below are the details:
Product Name:TG582n
Serial Number:CP******
Software Release:8.4.4.I
Software Variant:AJ
Boot Loader Version:1.0.5
Product Code:36847780
Board Name:DANT-T
Has a USB port on the side of the unit also.
Any chance of a Plusnet authorised person doing this for me?

Re: Upgrading firmware of Technicolor TG582n?

As per the response to tactilis, you may have to do this yourself because
1) I don't know if they can do it if the serial number isn't on their database, even though it's the right model, and
2) There's the extra bit to configure for ADSL/Fibre with the 10.2.5.2.FO firmware which is the best advisable upgrade for models with the USB port. Do not use 10.2.2.B on your model, it does horrible periodic things with PPP connectivity and weird periodic increases in latency for reasons I never did discover despite asking Products.
Hopefully one of the CRT (maybe Chris) will respond tomorrow.

Re: Upgrading firmware of Technicolor TG582n?

Hello again, btw forgot to say welcome to the forum. Glad you managed to get it done, did you get 10.2.5.2.FO?
I know CRT have been really busy which is no doubt why they didn't respond.

Re: Upgrading firmware of Technicolor TG582n?

Hi Anotherone, Yes it's upgraded to 10.2.5.2.FO but, STILL having slow ADSL d/l speeds.
Have done everything to regain my 12-14mbps d/l speed to no avail...I'm well and trully apostrophied

Hi Tony, welcome to the forum. Plusnet CRT members have been extremely busy recently, hopefully they'll get to see this tomorrow.
You realise that the modem/router needs to be left on and mustn't be switched off or rebooted during the upgrade and preferably the connection shouldn't be in use at the time.

Re: Upgrading firmware of Technicolor TG582n?

Hi
I've been looking for a way to upgrade my firmware on my TG582n, but am discovering that there is absolutely no way to do it on a mac; Is it possible that Plus Net could do this for me remotely?
