Upgraded to 21CN - Peak time speeds very slow

Hi
I've been on BB Premier Option 1 for years,and was upgraded to 21CN last week. Since then the speeds in the evening have been dreadful.
Just run a BT speed test (8.15pm):
Download speedachieved during the test was - 393 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 100-500 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :18424 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 443 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 350 Kbps
I ran the test this morning at 9am and my IP profile was 12500 and I managed a download speed of over 8000.
Router stats:

noise margin: 25.7dB upstream, 2.5dB downstream
Attenuation: 5.5dB upstream, 23dB downstream
Any suggestions?

Hi KevH,
I've just checked your BT and PN profiles and they're both 16000, so I've absolutely no idea why you should see a profile of 350 on the speedtest. Are you sure you didn't inadvertently connect to someone else's wireless network?

Nope - this was on a hard wired connection with the (desktop) PC (no wireless) running the test connected to the router.
The problem has been the same for the last 4 evenings that I've checked (upgade to ADSL2 happened on 2 Sept). Pings go out to over 400ms as well which isn't impressing the grumpy PS3 playing kids in the household.
The router remains switched on 24hrs/day. Until 1 Sept I'd had a rock solid connection.
I've now raised a ticket - 35092906.

I'm going to leave it with the faults guys as you have raised a ticket but I am going to check a few things myself for you, just in case I can see anything obvious. If I can, I will come back to you, otherwise we'll see what the faults guys make of it.

I've just ran a line check and it all seems ok at the moment. We'll still leave the faults team to it but what I'll do is run a line check about 8 tonight and then 9 then 11and if I get any unusual results I can upload them onto the ticket for the faults guys to look at.

Just ran  line test at 10PM, showing IP profile of 16000, just where it should be at the moment I'm afraid. Sorry I couldn't get one earlier, I had to go out.

Last night was a better night. I ran a BT speed test at 8pm and the IP profile was 16000 and managed just over 6k download.

Hi Kevin,
I think you should update your ticket to include the fact that you're only getting 6000 on a 16000 profile, that would be the most important thing to focus on at the moment, I think.

JoJo  I think it may be something with the speed testers as well
Posted one recently  my synch is about 15000, profile BT & PN 13000 but at 13:00 the BT got 3380 as down load and my speed 9500, (I have a problem on this machine with Avast hoggging download - XPSP3)
Also see attached, my speed did something funny  Mt 585 I had to power down on the 7th   - results of SamKnows monitoring
