Upgrade to fibre questions

Hi,
since her indoors has joined Netflix, my broadband has been a bit poorly, for updating windows, java, anti-malware, av and surfing the net speed has been greatly reduced.
If I upgrade to unlimited fibre  (38mbps) will this resolve these issues?.
Also my monthly renewal direct debit  date is 25th, for unlimited broadband only @£9.99,
less 75p discount referral discount as below.
"£-0.75 £0.00 25/06/2014 Credit Note Reduction of subscription charges by the referral scheme"
Will I lose this discount?
Lastly, depending on how long it will take to upgrade to fibre, will I be charged twice, ie; £9.99 and £17.49 within the same month? or could I book in advance for upgrade to coincide with renewal date of 25th of the month?.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Upgrade to fibre questions

Hi devtaz,
Moving to fibre will certainly help your situation as you're currently syncing at 3.5Mb/s.
The discount you receive is for a referral that you have made, so you will continue to get this.
You will only be charged for one service, so on the day you switch to fibre that is the day you'll pay your new price.
You can make the upgrade request via our member centre, you would need a fibre enabled router that we can provide if needed.

It'll be fine. I've almost had them install FTTC twice now and the first time went fine I have no doubt it will go fine again next time too.

No problems. If it's AM you might get openreach if PM Kelly communications.
I saw a Kelly van which was stolen being chased by the Police lastnight -was fun to watch.
Openreach engineers are better in my opinion.

Thanks for the info.
I did tick 1pm to 6pm, but I left a note in the engineers comments box, "Anytime between 8am to 6pm"

Hi,
upgrade complete, I am very happy with the speed, so far so good.
I did a speedtest earlier, result as follows;

After upgrade;

I hope it stays this way, fingers crossed.
Thanks for all the reassuring help and advice, much appreciated.
