Unlimited fibre speed

Hi,
I had unlimited fibre installed at 1pm today, I have just checked the download speed and it is only 3.1MBPS, and thats the same as when I was on normal ADSL broadband....I was stated the speed I would receive was 55MBPS(I assumed it would be nearer to 15MBPS).
The only reason I went for fibre is due to the speed and it appears that its no faster, Can someone please shed some light on this as im a bit perplexed.
Thanks

Re: Unlimited fibre speed

It means that the Plusnet profile won't have increased if it is the same as with ADSL - what does it actually say as the current line spoeed
You can either phone or wait for it to be picked up tomorrow
Of course it may well sort itself out by the morning

Re: Unlimited fibre speed

Give it 5 minutes and if you're not seeing a better speed try logging in to the router and disconnect/reconnect.

Re: Unlimited fibre speed

Only the speed you are connected at, not the throughput. You're connected at just under 65Mb so I'd expect around 55Mb on speedtests.

Re: Unlimited fibre speed

ostcode:
Phone exchange:
WHITWELL
Estimated line speed:
53Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2013-11-29 19:11:57
Current line speed:
63.8 Mb
Ive just checked this but last nite it was 3.2MB on that. Should I see what the speed is again when I get home around 6pm.
The speed it shows of 63.8MB, that is for my address(6 queen street) and not my current location (work) as i know my work speed is about 80mb.

Re: Unlimited fibre speed

Is that wireless or wired ?
Needs to be a wired test to get accurate results , too many factors can affect wireless speeds.

Haha 2 for the price of 1!
yes thats wireless.....without sounding crass I cannot be arsed trying to explain to her how to wire the connection to the pc from the other side of the room. Id rather try and do it when i get home at 6!
