Unknown username on router

Been having an evening of frequent disconnects, so i logged into the Technicolor TG582n to see what's going on.
Very surprised to see a new username for the internet connection is saved there.
Instead of my username and password, it was showing '<snip> and a saved password
I changed it back, but how is this possible?
[Moderator's note by Jim (Oldjim)  somebody's username removed but noted for staff as he may be wondering why he can't connect all because the TR069 system screwed up ]

TR-069 incorrectly configured ?
Try disabling it in the router.

Re: Unknown username on router

You can't as far as I know you can only disable it via the portal

Re: Unknown username on router

Hmmm,  that could be difficult if the TR-069 is incorrectly set up on somebody else's account  Crazy
Are you sure it can't be disabled in the router ?,  many routers can,  but I don't have a Technicolor so I don't know in this instance.

I have a TG582n and there isn't any way unless you can do it via telnet

Re: Unknown username on router

Wouldn't manually changing it cause it to stick until the next time the router needs to autoconfigure (after a factory reset)?
I thought TR-069 was a pull request not a push one (i.e. the router asks for it when doing its first boot)

Re: Unknown username on router

I don't think it is in all situations.  Such as I think when you change your password on the portal it tries to update it on your router with TR-069 (or at least used to).  I think I've heard of people have their firmware updated (at their request) over TR-069.  I don't know what other circumstances it might push anything out.

service system modify name=CWMP-S state=disabled
saveall

I did that when I went on the IPv6 trial which requires using a different username.

Re: Unknown username on router

I believe that looking over your account (and the one you gave the username for) this is now sorted. I've spoken to the guys that look after the hardware ordering and they've had a look and are seeing what went wrong.
