Un cap upload speed & turn interleaving off.

I only use broadband for gaming and having a high ping and a capped upload speed isn't helping.
Would it be possible to have interleaving turned off and the upload speed uncapped?
Thanks

Hi wiganfcfan07,
Your upload speeds should already be uncapped on an FTTC connection. what sort of speeds and pings are you seeing?

Re: Un cap upload speed & turn interleaving off.

Hi Chriss, some days it's 18mb upload and less then 10 ping(Which is perfect) and other days 2mb upload and 160+ping to the same servers ect. Not sure if it's due to interleaving on or just a poor line idk. Any help would be great. Thanks

i have only a 0.44mb upload speed and my ping is fine. i would expect 2mb to be fine also.

Can anything be done? As having a different internet connection each day is very frustrating, could you at least let me know if interleaving is on or off?
thanks

I'm guessing you are using a wireless connection to the router - correct? If that is the case have you checked the speed and latency wired?

How many other people use the connection?

@ wiganfcfan07 - what servers are you connecting to when you get the low speeds?

Re: Un cap upload speed & turn interleaving off.

Looks like substantial uploads on the 16th, 18th and 20th. Did you have a backup running or similar on those days?
The amount of upload usage would certainly explain the ping you were seeing, especially in the short timeframe it was happening (mainly peak time in the evenings)

Ok thanks Chriss i will try not to download anything for a while and then test for a few days afterwards to see if it's that. I will update, then.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The ping is going to be high during the periods you're uploading.

@wiganfcfan07
Are you running P2P software? If so and you haven't restricted the upload speed your connection will be knackered even when you are not downloading.

Re: Un cap upload speed & turn interleaving off.

I found the problem, i turned game mode off. Ping has improved considerably and also more stable(In terms of it not spiking).
