Hi
I'm having problems connecting to various OpenVPN UDP profiles on my PlusNet Unlimited ADSL connection.
I've tested using several different profiles and am noticing the following:
- OpenVPN Port UDP 50000 - Non existent web page loading (timeouts), can PING fine
- OpenVPN Port UDP 1194 - Non existent web page loading (timeouts), can PING fine
- OpenVPN Port UDP 6112 - Non existent web page loading (timeouts), can PING fine
- OpenVPN Port UDP 8000 - Non existent web page loading (timeouts), can PING fine
but...
- OpenVPN Port TCP 80 - Absolutely fine
I have testing with various VPN providers on various devices and am seeing the same behaviour on all UDP VPN traffic. I am using the PlusNet supplied router which has been reset to factory defaults.
It almost feels like something is throttling or dropping the packets, but I'm lead to believe its not at my end unless its the router as this is the only thing that has remained consitent during my testing.
I'm on the Unlimited plan and seeing the symptoms with the Pro Addon enabled and disabled (it makes no difference).
Is anyone noticing the same behaviour or can recommend a VPN provider which works so I can test with that?
Thanks
Matt

I've been having similar issues with my VPN provider using UDP, could ping websites but could not browse webpages. TCP worked fine.
I managed to fix it by changing the WAN MTU setting on my Netgear router from the default of 1458 up to 1500
The web interface had a limit of 1458 so I had to put the router in debug mode and change the value in telnet using the commands in the following link
http://b0rken.org/wiki/Fixing_WAN_MTU_limitation_on_NetGear_DGN2200v3_ADSL_router
The model mentioned is different to mine but the commands still worked.
Hope this helps
