Trying to help elderly parents with their broadband

Hello, I have signed up as I am trying to support my parents whilst they are shielding.  They use Plusnet for their broadband and phone.  Connection to the wifi in the living room has always been patchy but they've lived with it.  Now my mum is trying to use an ipad to connect with family and friends using Facetime the issue of the wifi signal is becoming more of a frustration.  Does plusnet offer a wifi booster they could just plug in that could be posted to them?

They have sky for TV but can't record programmes.  My sister thinks its due to the poor wifi signal in the living room.  In your experience do you think improving the wifi signal would help with the tv issues?

Thank you

Re: Trying to help elderly parents with their broadband

Hiya @lizaustin19, I am sorry that your parents are having some issues with their WiFi.

I'm afraid we don't supply WiFi boosters but there are some settings that can be change in the router to help with wireless performance. If you could please send me a private message with their username I can firstly run some tests to rule out any faults and then can assist further with wireless settings.

Where possible, I would also advise using an Ethernet cable (for compatible devices) as this will always give the best and most stable connection.
