Training Period Question?

Hi, new Plusnet user here who's not the most technical savvy, I'm afraid.  Roll_eyes
I have just recently transferred over from Virgin Media, and so far I have been getting a solid connection running at the same speeds I was getting from Virgin at its best.
I am basically just wondering if its worth getting a training period reset, and what could be the benefits of this.
I tend to receive a download of 6 - 6.5 mbps and my upload is usually around 0.2-0.3 mbps, with my ping at around 25 - 30.
Would a reset improve any of these speeds, or is it best to leave things alone as I currently have a steady connection?
Any advice appreciated as this is all out of my realm of knowledge. Thanks.

Re: Training Period Question?

Welcome to the Forums and Plusnet
it depends on what your connection is, with standard ADSL, the max synch spee is 8128, which gives a profile of 7150, this after overheads give a download of 6000 - 6500 and uplad of about 360.
do a BT speed test  http://www.speedtester.bt.com/, best not now as donload speed is lower in the evening,  if possible do it in the morning
you profile should be here  https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
info about your line here  http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/adslchecker.php

Re: Training Period Question?

So, having looked at those links, it seems its probably best to leave things as they are, I think. My profile is displaying as 7150 so with the speed test's I've been doing over the last few days are showing an average of 6.7 download and 0.3 upload, it all seems to fall on par with those numbers you've posted above, Peirre.
Thanks for your help.  Smiley
