Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

I've tried changing the SNR manually and it won't go above the sync rate what it's currently at now 14334 , I've been out the 10 day training period over a week ago, I've just changed the DSL cable and also the filters and nothing has changed.

Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

I've just run the BT Wholesale test
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download  Speed
11.9 Mbps

0 Mbps 21 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 11.9 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4 Mbps-21 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 12.65 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
1.01 Mbps

0 Mbps 0.83 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 1.01Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps

We were unable to identify any performance problem with your service at this time.
It is possible that any problem you are currently, or had previously experienced may have been caused by traffic congestion on the Internet or by the server you were accessing responding slowly.
If you continue to encounter a problem with a specific server, please contact the administrator of that server in the first instance.

Has you can see  IP Profile for your line is - 12.65 Mbps.

Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

The SNR reset obviously hasn't worked (yet), I've just woken up and realised that's a Banded speed. BTw have obviously changed the way this has been implemented recently, as you used to see much larger SNRM's than normal when the speed was Banded, but not on the ones I've seen recently  Roll_eyes
Once the Reset takes effect the BT Profile will go up and the Plusnet one should follow sometime after 1805 this evening.

Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

Very high interleaving depth - 'tis odd
See ADSL2+ framing particulars
D= 352 downstream
would normally expect to see around 64 on an interleaved line
Then again there must be something wrong as on that line length I'd exepcted Fast path to be OK
So the DLM has switched on interleaving - so it saw something it did not like.
The IP profiles (BT and plusnet) match the sync speed
BT IP = 88.3% of the sync speed and plusnet IP = BT IP rounded slightly down
The issue is why the sync speed is only 14300 on a line of only 14 Db attenuation............
Edit: Anotherone has probably got the answer.
(So what caused it to be banded I wonder?)

Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

As I just posted, it's Banded and the Reset hasn't taken effect yet.
Edit: Cause - not sure - I wonder if there was errors previously Huh

Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

The first SNR reset didn't take so I've submitted a new one, hopefully this time it'll work and remove the banding.

Re: Towerblocks - speed problem

The connection just rebooted.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 19990 kbps 1192 kbps
Line Attenuation 14.0 db 9.8 db
Noise Margin 6.3 db 5.9 db
But the speed won't go above 14mbps, So i'm guessing that the plusnet profile has to catchup now i'm assuming?

Yep, I've just nudged it in to the right value now. If it doesn't sort itself out in the next few minutes, try a single disconnect/reconnect and you should see the better speeds.
