I posted a question to PN about this, which I've since closed accepting their reasoning but it still bugs me. I got fibre 80/20 in Feb, and for 6 glorious weeks or so had a PN profile of 78Mb, which delivered speed tests from various places of 70-74Mb. Great. Then one weekend in March I was mucking around moving things and turned the modem off 2 or 3 times within a fairly short period.
From that point on, the speed tests dropped by around 10Mb, so the best I ever get now is 64Mb. A BTW test shows a profile of 69.61Mb; Plusnet's profile dropped to 68.2 where it's stayed since. It's now 3 or 4 weeks since those modem restarts, so if it were DLM related I'd have though it'd have gone back to 'normal' by now.
Modem stats are as follows (on an up time of ~22hrs):
Attainable down/up: 84388 29854
SNR margin down/up: 6.2 15.1
Line Attenuation: 0 0 (yes, it says 0, even using xdslcmd via telnet - weird, though I am only a matter of a couple of hundred paces from the cabinet)
Line Rate: 71915 20000
CRC Errors: 20664
FEC Errors: 830
HEC Errors: 5149
My Plusnet profile is "40M-80M Downstream, Interleaving Low - 10M-20M Upstream, Interleaving Off" according to their test data of 30th March, which was alongside a RADIUS graph.
Could the drop just be contention? Is the drop happening at the same time I reset the modem a coincidence?
I know 64Mb is still pretty good, it's just a disappointment when I know it was better. Tell me it all looks normal and I'll try and stop obsessing over it

Try xdslcmd info --pbParams (the 2nd 'P' is intentionally upper case).
That will confirm Line & Signal attenuation per band:-
xdslcmd info --pbParams
xdslcmd: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: Showtime
Retrain Reason: 2
Max: Upstream rate = 5646 Kbps, Downstream rate = 30460 Kbps
Path: 0, Upstream rate = 5646 Kbps, Downstream rate = 25845 Kbps
Discovery Phase (Initial) Band Plan
US: (0,95) (868,1207) (1972,2783)
DS: (32,859) (1216,1963) (2792,3959)
Medley Phase (Final) Band Plan
US: (0,95) (868,1207)
DS: (32,859) (1216,1963)
VDSL Port Details Upstream Downstream
Attainable Net Data Rate: 5646 kbps 30460 kbps
Actual Aggregate Tx Power: 6.3 dBm 12.5 dBm
============================================================================
VDSL Band Status U0 U1 U2 U3 D1 D2 D3
Line Attenuation(dB): 8.2 52.8 N/A N/A 21.5 62.9 0.1
Signal Attenuation(dB): 8.2 52.0 N/A N/A 21.5 62.9 N/A
SNR Margin(dB): 6.2 6.0 N/A N/A 6.2 6.5 N/A
TX Power(dBm): -4.1 5.8 N/A N/A 11.3 6.4 N/A
xdslcmd info --stats will give you lots of other info, such as 'true' FEC/CRC error counts (the modem's GUI mis-reports them), interleaving depth etc. etc. etc.

Quote from: tijara33 I can't believe that your quality of life will suffer over the loss of a couple of Mbs. Just remember dial up!!
Just say it: you're being greedy
Bald_Eagle1: Thanks for that. That did give me a sensible attenuation I think (because I'm not entirely sure how to interpret this; feel free to enlighten me as to whether there's anything at all in the stats I posted that doesn't look normal):
