Too slow for Lovefilm now

I have only recently moved to Plusnet from Talk Talk. I get almost exactly, but just under, 2Mb download all the time. This is too slow for Lovefilm which needs 2Mb or it refuses access. I used to get this with Talk Talk but they changed some SNR or something setting and I jumped up to almost 4Mb. Do you have any similar thing you can do to increase my speed. I only need a fraction rise.
My modem is plugged straight into the master socket. Speedtest shows 1.99Mb

Hi Sacha,
Having looked at the results of a couple of diagnostic tests it looks like a change to the SNR (signal to noise ratio) may be possible. Where as that may increase the download speed you'd be able to achieve there is a risk that it might cause some disconnection issues.
If you're willing to give it a try let me know.

EDIT: As this is a reversible change I'll give it a go for you, after all you've done this with Talk Talk already.
You should hopefully notice some difference within the next couple of hours.

My first speed test shows that the speed has DROPPED to 1.77M.
Will try again later.

Speed tests now showing 2.5 MBS. That's plenty for me. Thanks a lot

Looks like I was a bit premature. The speed has DROPPED to 1.77Mb. This speed is consistent at peak time and middle of the night and it seems to be always 1.77Mb as if its a cap. Can you please check to make sure that my profile is correct. Remember I used to get 1.99 then after you changed the SNR it went up to 2.5 and now its the worst ever at 1.77.

Hi Sacha,
I'm sorry to hear the problem has returned. I've run some some in-depth tests on your line which has uncovered a fault on your telephone line which is very likely going to be the cause of the problem.
I've raised a case with our suppliers to get this repaired for you. I'm expected the necessary work to have been completed by the end of the day on Friday.
