Throughput Speed

Hi
Can someone please explain why my download speed is allways around 9Mbps.
My sync rate is stable at 14374Kbps
My IP Profile is 12.68Mbps.
I read on the pn website Broadband terminology guide that my IP profile  will always be 88.2% of the sync rate which is correct.
Throughput speed This is the actual speed you're able to download data. In normal conditions this will be close to but never higher than your current IP Profile.
Mine is stuck at 9Mbs no matter what time I test at.
Thanks
Cal

Re: Throughput Speed

Are you running the Speed Tests via an Ethernet or Wireless Connection?

@calbliss
I've just tried to run some line diagnostics but it looks like your router might be unplugged at the moment.
Let me know if you have and if you've reconnected it.

Re: Throughput Speed

Sorry Adam I was doing some checks myself it is all back on now.
I tried the router in the master socket and used my laptop to check speeds which I was getting 11.4Mps
I then tried the router using the upstairs socket still getting 11.4Mps
I then tried using the ethernet cable that runs between my router and computer in the laptop and it drops to 9Mps so it would seem that my cable is bad.
I will purchase a new cable.
