Through Pass on a PPPOE

can any one help
I have a new ADSL 2+ annex m line installed
i need to to set it up to have the netgear modem just as a modem with a cisco router just after, so i need to use PPPOE autentification....
can this be done

I have a 2wire (BT Business hub) as a modem and an old linksys WRT54GL (running dd-wrt) as the ppp router.
Do you need any more specific questions answering?
