@ shelleysinclair, I don't suppose the 'problem laptop' is running Vista?  If so, have a read of this (relevant with this router): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233

i really do appreciate all the help given here but I have spent hours trying to fix this when if Plusnet just sent me a router that worked properly in the first place then I would not have this problem.
I am worn out
