Hi,
I have a HP 650 laptop and a generic pc both running Windows 7 sp1 and having trouble with Homegroups. I can create and join and for a while my pcs remain connected but later they lose the homegroup.
Microsoft state that ipv6 must be running and it is on the laptop and pc but can my router, see subject, handle ipv6?
Thanks,
Al.

I can't answer the question but one way round the problem is to not use homegroups but set up your own network - I have a named network running on Win 7 and XP with ip4 only

OK I'll give that a go, as there seems to be lots of issues with the Homegroup.

PlusNet don't use ipv6 unless your on the fttc package,
you can get round this by using a decent router with advanced config settings which lets you create a blind ipv6 link so everything works properly ... but it will still stop periodically and require manual reconnect or signin

just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

So I guess there's no point in upgrading the router firmware then?
