Temporary service for old property after moving home

I understand that it's fairly straightforward to transfer our broadband service when moving home. But we're still going to have access to the old property for a while after moving and I'd like to keep some kind of broadband service active there without starting a new long-term contract, and ideally without paying a new set of activation/connection fees. Does anyone know if Plusnet offer something like that? Some kind of month-by-month rolling contract would be ideal.

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

How long are you looking to have the service up and running in both properties?

It's a bit hard to say as it depends how long it takes to sell the old one. I'm imagining 2 or 3 months.

Re: Temporary service for old property after moving home

Thanks for confirming.

With the nature of house moves, we aim to place an order to cease the service in the old property, and activate the new service at the same time.

Historically, we've been able to place two standalone orders and have the service active in both properties for a couple of days as a goodwill gesture. However we wouldn't be able to do this for an indefinite amount of time, or the length of time at hand.

It may be best to pick the property which would be the best to keep the service in at this stage. Appreciate that this isn't the answer that you'd hope for, however I hope it at least clarifies things a bit.

Thanks Matty, that's helpful to have that confirmed.

Since asking the question I've realised that our existing contract finishes in Feb of next year, so if the dates work out it may make sense to just start a new contract at the new property and leave the existing one in place.

That may work out best. Let us know if there's anything I can do on our side.
