Re: Tell Me Whats Wrong With This....

Have you tried setting the Plusnet "Broadband Firewall" to "High" ?,  just in case it is something external hammering your connection !.

Re: Tell Me Whats Wrong With This....

I don't think you understand.  Huh
Yes there is a firewall in your Asus N56 which should block unsolicited traffic that has reached your router, from passing through to your home network.
The Plusnet "Broadband Firewall" is a different firewall, it is located on the Plusnet network equipment, and you can configure it to block unwanted traffic being sent to your broadband connection.
If an external source (such as a hacker, or mis-configured DNS record) was persistently trying to connect to your WAN IP address, then that might cause the TBB latency spikes you are seeing if your Asus N56 was rejecting the unwanted traffic, because that spurious traffic is still passing over your broadband connection - and will contribute to your monthly usage figures.
However, I was suggesting setting the Plusnet "Broadband Firewall" to the maximum setting to see the effect of blocking all unsolicited incoming traffic BEFORE it reaches your broadband connection.  This way the unwanted traffic IS NOT using your connections bandwidth, and does not contribute to your monthly broadband usage, and more importantly should not cause latency spikes on your TBB graph.
I hope that made sense ?
