Technicolor TG582n

Just installed this router and I cannot log in to the gateway web page on my desktop computer(XP). The page is slow loading and when it does appear the links do not work. Using my laptop PC(Vista) the page loads correctly. I have tried all the usual suggestions found on the internet for slow/incomplete page load. I am now wondering if there is a conflict between the router firewall and the PC firewall. Has anyone got any suggestions?

I assume you're connecting to the router with it attached by ethernet cable? When you say links do not work, have you progressed past the login page and if so what happens when you click the links? Do they just not load or do you get an error?

Yes, I connect using ethernet cable and the links appear to be active but nothing happens when I click on them. This happens in Chrome, IE7 and Firefox. Error report shows that there is a jscriptutil.exe error among others but I have checked all JavaScript settings which seem OK.
