I'm facing a pretty strange issue. Periodically, but without any visible pattern, my Technicolor TG582n is becoming unresponsive. It results in a number of symptoms - from browser sessions timing out to the web interface and telnet sessions to the Technicolor TG582n not responding. I have noticed an unusual number of DDoS-like log entries, such as:
- FIREWALL icmp check (1 of 3): Protocol: ICMP Src ip: 192.168.1.65 Dst ip: 169.254.210.170 Type: Destination Unreachable Code: Port Unreacheable
- IDS scan parser : tcp port scan: 199.96.57.7 scanned at least 10 ports at 213.162.108.234. (1 of 1) : 199.96.57.7 213.162.108.234 40 59 TCP 443->56991 [...R..] seq 4238286043 ack 0 win 0
- IDS proto parser : tcp data on syn segment (1 of 2) : 103.242.20.231 213.162.108.234 41 113 TCP 59952->80 [S.....] seq 1621179607 ack 0 win 17520
- IDS proto parser : tcp invalid urgent offset (1 of 1) : 94.197.120.196 213.162.108.234 52 48 TCP 40667->33302 [.FA.U.] seq 2413511045 ack 1622063499 win 2047
Also the ADSL status is showing a high number of CRC and HEC errors:
Uptime: 0 days, 5:08:08
DSL Type: ITU-T G.992.5
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 968 / 13,831

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 17.5 / 31.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 5.3 / 6.0

FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 400 / 19,316
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 267 / 41,669
My device information:
Product Name: TG582n
Serial Number: CP1408VFLBT
Software Release: 10.2.2.B
Software Variant: EH

Any suggestion what could be the reason for that behaviour?

Hi there,
From looking at this I don't believe the two issues are related.
Regarding the firewall logs it does indicate that the router's doing it's job of preventing any unwarranted intrusions.
As for the increased errors that looks to be symptomatic of a dropping connection issue, from what I can tell that's been apparent for around the past 3 days.
Please head over to our online fault checker to report this if that continues to be a problem for you: http://faults.plus.net

Posting here as I have a similar issue. Whilst all clients seem OK, attempts to open the web interface to my Technicolor TG582n or telnet to it fail. I restart it and I can connect for 10 minutes or so, but after that, nothing. ANy ideas? Or is this a help desk call?
