I think you could be being a little unfair, the OP may have spent some time trying to investigate the problem and perhaps have other family commitments, maybe have to go to work on night-shift or have to get up very early for work etc.

Hi Guys
thank you for your help and advice.
I still haven't managed to get it done.  i use macbook pro and i bought it less than six months ago.
I tried manually set it up it some of you explained. it did not work.
PlusComUK, I am going to contact plus net today and ask them to send me a new router.  before doing that i just wanted to clarify that you don't have any problem with yours?

Absolutely NO problems, I only use it as a basic router, I connect with Wi-Fi, but Ethernet works great too
My PlusNet supplied router (before March 2012)
Thomson   TG585 v8 Software Release: 8.2.7.8
Works perfectly for me, new iMac 10.7.4
And older iMac 10.6.8
Wi-Fi for both ( and both at the same time, no problems )

I also have my SKY+HD box plugged into it, for Anytime+ downloads
And my Freeview HD box for "Space" etc, and Olympics downloads.

I have always found the tech guys at PN excellent in setting up and reconfiguring my router, when Network problems arise.

Hi yoop,
Can you "ftp" it or map a specific folder with the MAC at all, or will it not see at all?

AnotherOne,  when i try ftp, login box pop up but even with admin username/passwd it says "This file server will not allow any additional users to log on."
Ps. ftp is ON in my router setting.

PlusComUk, does your router have USB port? have you ever tried to connect a device to it?

I'm pretty sure 585v8 doesn't have a usb port so wouldn't meet your requirements.
