TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

Hi,
I've been trying to set-up this TP-Link router to replace the Technicolor TG582n (FTTC)
It has DD-WRT installed, I put in what I believe to be the correct settings and hooked it up to the OR modem - restarted both but it doesn't connect.

Any one here have an idea as to what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!

Re: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

I can't see anything wrong with that. You may need to leave the router for up to 8 minutes before it connects, due to an issue with long pppoe timeouts ( see here http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,114808.0.html ).
If it still doesn't connect then try using the pppoe debugging facilities http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Debugging_PPPOE_Problems

Yep, it will connect eventually. Usually takes around 4-7 mins.

Re: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

Thanks, didn't know I'd have to wait that long.
Am I right in saying you don't have to do the "MAC Address Clone" with plusnet?
Also under "Network Setup" I'm assuming you leave gateway blank?

Re: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

It connected after leaving it for ~10 mins. Seems stable so far... Cool

Not sure If I'm just unlucky, but I've already given up on it as it disconnected ~6 times in minutes for seemingly no reason. Anyone else have luck with this router and/or DD-WRT?

Re: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

Its because you checked keep alive 30 sec. You need to check connect automatically or something along those lines. Can't remember which as I use OpenWrt.

Re: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

As the alternative to that is "connect on demand" I'm not really sure what to do. It was my understanding that "keep alive" never dropped the connection if idle, but I guess I'll have to look into that more.

Hi there,
How is your connection now? It doesn't seem that you've been having any drops since.
