TP :LINK W8901G - limited no. of wireless clients?

Hi, ADSLMax connection is fine with Thomson router but playing with a new TP LINK W8901G (e.g. to see if wireless performance is better)  BUT there's a problem with it.#
I haven't worked it out exactly but it looks like a wireless client limit of 3 or 4 OR wireless connections just start to die.  Does anybody know if there is a low default wireless client limit?
When a client connection dies the wireless connection to the router is ok (wifi tester) but http just stops  - as if the router is denying the connection.  Very odd.  The router has the latest firmware and I've used connection settings as defined by Plusnet.

It seems there is a new firmware version available that supports up to 24 wireless clients.

Thanks.  Bit of a waste of time really trying an ancient router.  Its a V3  W8901G and can only take V3 updates.  However, for some strange reason the connection (to clients) has been 95% reliable since the first couple of days.  Here's my reasoning...
With the Thomson router we were running at optimium settings and changing the router TYPE (poorer quality !?) meant we had disconnections resulting in a changed IP Profile (7Mbps).    To be honest I'm not sure if this is faster or slower than before but I'm trying to convince myself that the router change itself is the explanation for the temporary issues.

I'd make sure you've got the latest version, that one can be found at http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/?model=TD-W8901G&version=V3
Your line has always been around the 7Mb/s mark so nothing seems to have changed there. It may be that the router has has become faulty.
