Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

Thanks Tony, that certainly doesn't explain the drops and odd SNRM behaviour or the odd Bits/Tone loading, so it's got to be something at the exchange end,  upstream of the splitter?

Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

Though having said that, the Capacitance seems extremely high for the circuit length, that might explain something.

Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

Thanks for organising the CLT and keeping me up to date; I hope that the checks at the exchange can be carried out and that they will find something to resolve the problem.

Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

In view of the similarity of the results with the 2 TG582n's, I doubt we'll see any difference just swapping the PSU, however double filtering the DECT may get rid of that minor reduction in Rx SNRM.
With regard to these pings, what level are they going up to? A quick glance at the RS Log should tell you.
You can adjust the Ping Graph scale at the top of the graph - Y-axis max.

Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

Pings
max =1000
min=21
ave=158
most are in the range 22 to 33 highest (non 1000) is around 200.
I have just returned to my pc after a while away and find that I have had 3 linestate down episodes; they were at 17:10, 17:31 and 18:22.
I have attached some charts and the last part of the syslog  is below

Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

Sorry I meant to say that when the CLT is done, you'll lose sync for ~3 minutes, that would have been the 1822 one. The 1710 & 1731 look to be more of your problem with dropped connections. I suggest raise a fault at http://faults.plus.net - it'll ask you to plug into the test socket, swap filters and god knows what else (haven't used it in years), just say yes, done to all of it, and post the ticket number when you've completed it on here.
If you get a point where you can add that you are getting a repetitive gradual increase/decrease in the DS SNRM - periodicity varying slightly but around 12-15 minutes, and the Upstream SNRM is very noisy and you can hear a very slight hum using the phone, that may help. If that doesn't happen during raising the ticket, than go back to it and use the "add information" bit.
I think Tony may have a look at it.

Re: TG582n dropping ASDL connection

I'm running another line test so you might feel a little disconnection for a couple of minutes. I'll then raise the fault and leave it in the hands of our faults team. It seems likely that you'll need an engineer though. We'll confirm soon.
